Derrick Moore - Not Hutch’s Robin. “Were Good”

Alot of people dont really follow the process for teams outside of the Lions. This regime has drafted multiple guys that were all pro/pro bowl players by the end of their 2nd year so if that’s not happening then the player is a bust and Brad should be on the hot seat lol

Through 3 weeks of the season the Detroit Lions rank 3rd in the NFL in total pressures with 57 and 2nd in the NFL in sacks with 12. The Defensive Line is just fine. This entire thread is dumb. It’s the secondary that is a problem.

And no those numbers are not because of blitzing…….yes they blitz…..but the defensive line is winning their one on ones and getting to the qb. 10 sacks against two normal qbs…..2 against alien josh allen. @CuriousHusker is on point….on pace for 65 sacks….it will go down but this is a ridiculous thread.

Think about what would have happened if Detroit had moved on from Stafford after the first two seasons?

Look who is adjacent to. Demarcus Lawrence, Montez Sweat, Bradley Chubb, etc. So yes it does portray him in a favorable light. Again, sample sizes are a much bigger problem at this juncture than you seem to want to acknowledge. You seem to suggest that Wonnum just “made a few good plays yesterday” when the reality that he was invaluable to our success.

He has played 44 snaps in total after a camp in which he missed significant time. This is a conversation that isn’t even yet worth having. It’s not fair to the kid to be rushing to judgment this early.

I keep forgetting about Moore. Damn. He’s our 2nd round pick with all this hype before the season. He’s doing nothing. He reminds me of Tyleik from last season.

Like think about that, I know you have, but Brad has been cooking at a historical rate. No one can keep that up forever….the second he begins to have some regular drafts or even bad picks the smartest fan in the room comes out and points out the flaws. You select GIBBS, LAPORTA, CAMPBELL AND Branch in that order in real time and then come talk to me about your ability to assess NFL talent.

For all of us complaining about the secondary I think we also need to recognize we would be even angrier if brad hadn’t traded for Scruggs. That trade is getting better and better every day.

DL needs to get to the qb a lot more.

Staring Call Of Duty GIF

The Bromarts, Hendon Hookers and TAs of the world didn’t work out. That’s obvious.

However when you look at his drafting in it’s entirety even just the last 3 drafts and its good.

We’d be in hell without Tate and Blake Miller and a big reason we’ve built leads 2 outta 3 weeks is Tyleik in the running game.

Or if we selected S Dillon Theineman in the 1st and CB Chris Johnson in the 2nd…dudes would be here bitching about how BH is retarded for passing on OT & Edge…

Everyone is a genius in hindsight around here. “I wanted this guy and look at him! He has 1.5 sacks through 3 games! How did BH miss that???”

It’s like we don’t have multiple 1st and 2nd round picks and it’s actually hard to have franchise altering drafts…who would’ve thought???

That trade has turned out to be big time!

I think what is really lost in these convos is what you are talking about. You hope it hit on generational talent when you identify it, but its not easy, and then you fill your team with SOLID NFL caliber football players. Certain posters are complaining because our offensive line isn’t stocked with borderline pro-bowl all pros talents. Failing to grasp that most teams don’t have 1 player the level of Tate on their line. Yes, Brad took some swings. He was feeling himself and I have heard he also hated those drafts and rather then take a chance in a weak class he tooks swings on diamonds in the rough. He struck out but he course corrected and has had 2 solid solid drafts and added solid players.

IS ANYONE POSTING ONE DAMN THING ABOUT BLAKE MILLER? WHERE ARE THE BLAKE MILLER SUCKS THREADS? This is a draft where there wasn’t a consensus number 1 OL pick for them, everyone had a favorite. No one is talking about Miller except to say, we missed miller against buffalo.

I wanted a tackle in the draft because getting even a mediocre tackle on a rookie contract allows us to keep everyone good for the rest of their primes.

Now planning that and actually pulling it off are two different things and I think they pulled it off

And if Blake is actually pro bowl caliber which it looks like he is so far, it changes the window everyone talks about

Again. Below average. I see MULTIPLE teams with multiple players over 12% win rate. Heck i see 5-8 with 3 players above average.

I dont care who else is in that group.

Yes Mac top 10 at position. Williams top 16 at his position. Hutch top 10.

De2? Bottom 5 if you put all of them together. Thats a weakness. Thats a hole.

Why is Hutch and Mac playing 90% of snaps? Because theres no one else.

Again im not asking for Garret. Im asking for a replacement level player. An average to above average DE2.

If you dont think having a dead body on the field at edge isnt a problem idk what to tell you.

The DL IS fine. The secondary is a complete disaster. QBs are having a field day with this defense. Look at the completion rating they’re giving up.

The scheme stinks the personel is mid

I am wondering if they are just bringing Moore along slowly. One, he is a rookie who missed a good chunk of camp. Two, he was injured and they want to make sure he doesn’t reinjure himself. I thought he flashed in camp some, so I expect we’ll see ‘moore’ from him.

Calling the 2ND DE rotation a ‘dead body’ when the Lions are literally 3rd in the NFL in pressures (57) and 2nd in sacks (12) through three weeks is peak box-score scouting. Stop hyper-fixating on isolated win-rate models while ignoring that the front is actively collapsing pockets and getting home at an elite rate.

You are not applying “analytics” correctly. You are not taking into consideration the context of the game: specific packages etc. Individual win rates from one of these tracking sites doesn’t take into consideration the whole story and each player’s job on that play.

On top of that 12% is a ridiculous expectation on every snap. What doesn’t go into that win rate is did the end successfully hold the edge or force the qb to revert back into the waiting arms of his teammates.
