Game!
That is a sweep!.

Your Central Division-leading, Detroit Tigers.
That looks like my predicted finish for the central possibly with the Royals flipping Minnesota. Minnesotas hitting especially if theyāre missing Lewis or Buxton for periods of time which is highly likely given the injury history of those two looks like a second division team for sure. I think they lost too much pitching and didnāt add back hitting
difficulty: against the chicago white sox. That took two come from behinds.
I think we win the central but the white sox are terrible.
Sox are trash. 65 wins, maybe. To No One In The Universeās surprise Eloy Jimenez is already hurt after 3 games against us. Heās the Great Value Brand Giancarlo Stantonā¦
Royals are weirdā¦they could win 70, they could finish .500. Lotta variance w young players, but they have some real talented guys.
Minny looks like a house of cards to me. I love their bully, but they lost starting pitchingā¦though Lopez and Ryan on a WS contender team would be a good 2 and 3 or great 3 and 4, the back 3 are crap.
The hitting looks slapdash. Even with Lewis healthy, I like our lineup top to bottom better. Lewis and Buxton are super fragile though, and no one else in that lineup has any real juice. Kepler might be Carpenterish and Correa wishes he was as good as Carlos Guillen despite the monster salary he received. I mean heās no Baez though, he is productive, again when healthy, which has been an issue his entire career.
Cleveland is the main competition because of their rotation depth. Bieber spun a gem 1st game out, and if he is back to being a true #1, they are tough. BUT, beyond Naylor the First( not Naylor the catcher) and Ramirez, there really isnt any pop in that lineup full of young guys. KC has pop all over that lineup, and if thier young pitchers FINALLY develop, they could get that .500 mark.
87 could win the Central and the Tigers could get there if Keith is real and they trade for a credible cleanup bat to DH after Greene vacates back to the OF.
Meadows
Greene
Tork
DH
Carpenter
Keith
Baez
Gio/Ibanez/Vierling/Jung
Rogers
as long as Meadows is for real is the best lineup in the Central.
If they donāt add a DH and stick with Canha, itās still a good lineup, but as much as I like Professional Hitter Guys like him and Grossman etc, they are 4th OF on true contenders.
Maybe the Miguel Sano weight loss/ comeback turns out well in We Wasted Ohtani and Trout Land, and they can flip him for prospects. That guy is āI cant believe itās not David Ortizā when he is right and not 300 pounds
I do not trust this team because of the hitting and the turd

Tigers wont win shit with this lineup. Sorry but tork, Greene, baez ,and ton hitting under 100. To tork, and Greene are the future.
Go Tigers! It wasnāt pretty, but itās another W.
I cant be excited yet
How many consecutuve wins until you are?
I get you though. Iāve seen head fake starts to seasons too.
I will be excited, but until I see 47- 34 first half, Iām on Hinch Aint Proven Shit Yet watch too.
Till they start hitting and scoring runs. Look at the top hitters. We shit on baez look at Greene and Torkelson as well. White sox and mets havenāt won a game yet. Red wings tricked me and i dont trust them yet. 158 games left and its 2 extra and one run games.
I realize sweeping a weak White Sox team and getting the series opener against the Mets aint nothing to write home about but if you compare it to last season tell me how close we were to a Lange meltdown tossing HR balls or an absolutely unexpected kicked ball from Baez costing us a late win. Seems to me thereās a different feel being able to play well from behind and win those close games⦠time will tell

Im happy but i dont want to be too happy
The tigers as a team are hitting .214. Which is terrible.
There are 10 teams below them.
It is terrible⦠and they are undefeated.
I love them winning. I donāt even care if it is ugly⦠and it is. But they better start making contact or they will be very short lived as the leader of the central.
Remember the whole reason the front office did what they did with regards to pitching was to allow for the young bats to adjust to MLB pitching in MLB. They werenāt going to learn anything more in the minors so time for them to sink or swim.
4 games in is too early to declare success or failure.
Mize debuts tonight after two years iirc
Game notes: Itās been a long journey for Casey Mize, but weather permitting, heāll be back on the mound Tuesday for the first time since April 14, 2022.
The former No. 1 overall pick has had multiple surgeries in that time, including the dreaded Tommy John for his throwing elbow, but he looks as healthy as he has in years and won a spring battle for the final spot in the five-man rotation. Mize made six appearances in spring training and pitched 20ā innings. He gave up 12 hits, five runs and nine walks and while some of his secondary pitchers werenāt as sharp as youād come to expect from Mize, his fastball looked electric. He told Our Man Evan Petzold itās the most confidence heās ever had in the pitch and thatās opened up different strategy elements for him.
Be shocked if there is no rain delay or cancel today
