Draft talk 2025/2026

We’re on the same page so far. I think they’ll like Faulk, he is a man among boys type, won’t get pushed around, and can set the edge while learning some pass rush moves. And 32nd if Faulk wants to drop down the board to within trading distance of our 2nd round pick that would be just fine by me.
I also like Blake Miller because I think he might be one of the safer picks. The Lions are going to want a sure fire starter. His upside may be slightly limited, but he’s got good length, a wealth of experience and should be able to start at RT right away. TJ Parker I sort of feel the same about. He is not flashy, but were talking about a guy who people thought was a top 5 pick last year. He can also set edge and might be an 8-10 sack guy with a chance to improve. safe. Thieneman though…that honestly could be our pick. I think he might be what the doctor ordered with our safety situation in flux. He has the measurables and the flexibility with upside that they like.

We’re also gonna love his play attitude and overall leadership, but the fact that he was basically the only one of their big prospects to play in their meaningless bowl game is gonna get him a BIG check in the pros column from our FO. Maybe two or three.

There are rumors that Mesidor was flagged for medical in a serious enough manner to be taken off some teams boards altogether.

Though it’s smoke season so who knows.

Isn’t smoke season mostly for character assassination though? What good does making up stories about a guy’s health do, when the other teams can just look at the same reports and go “no, he’s fine.”? Just making him drop in the media or something?

As I’ve said before I think Moore is THE ideal AQM replacement for us. Out of the top quick pressure options he’s pretty much the only one that wins the way that we prefer our DE to win.

Yeah, we’ve talked about him quite a bit. Easy guy to love, almost wish he hadn’t gone to the Senior Bowl and popped. The run defense is still a little baffling, but it’s not like we’re really counting on AQM there, and unlike him Moore could improve.

Best player in the draft

Really?? You think so??

I’d take him in a heartbeat

I just don’t think he’s got the instincts of the true elites. He’s still a super prospect and a lack of instincts isn’t the worst thing - Peterson’s were subpar too - but it pushes him below Mendoza, Styles, Downs and Bain for me.

This draft kind of sucks at the top. Its crazy. Imagine having this draft the years we had two first rounders.

As a Notre Dame fan I appreciate this. I’m hoping he goes to a team that has a good OL. But I think Downs and Bain are the two best players in this draft. But that’s just my opinion :man_shrugging:

Had a great pro day. World class kid. We are rumored to like him a lot.

He was one of the biggest combine snubs for sure. One of the few legit 3-techs. I know we interviewed him at the Shrine, but I think I read where every team did lol.

Didn’t realize the pro days had started.

Oh and for the record his length at the shrine was 31 5/8. So long enough.

I’m in. Round 6? Resign Lopez.

Navy kid vs Wingo

Pretty much the entire league was at the Navy pro day. Two really weird combine snubs.

Edit: nvm forgot that Heidenrich was at the combine.

He might be kind of expensive. We visited with Brandon Cleveland. I wouldn’t be shocked if a day 3 backup NT is in the cards.

Interesting, I didn’t know about the lack of power in his rush

You know, I would also have to throw Fano into the “safe” list, and a guy they will love in terms of grit. I really love the way Fano can move I just wish his measurables were better. Then again, if they were we’d probably have no shot and still I think our shot is small. At the end of the day I think he’ll compete for first OT taken.

Was listening to a podcast this week - think it was The Lions Collective - and one of the guys who had been at the Combine said that there was no way that Proctor was going to be a Lion on the basis of something they’d learnt in Indy.

At this stage at *17 my hope is Fano. My expectation is Miller.

What do other people hope for / expect?
