We did make their defense look like a high school team for a half yesterday, though, and if it werenāt for some ill-timed mistakes that score could have (should have) been out of hand before they had a chance to come back.
I think A LOT of Lions fans are forcing themselves to believe this because theyād rather lose AG than lose Ben Johnson. BJ is the better candidate pure and simple. He will take the job that he wants. I personally believe BJ goes to the Saints and AG goes to the Jets!
Detroit would be an oasis for a guy like him. But if you really believe (as some do) that he threw the game yesterday to hasten his exit, then how can you hire a guy like that?
I agree with you that this narrative is out there but I also think itās patently absurd, personally. I think someone from the Commanders put it out there and groupthink took over. And itās an easy angle to sell because heās stoic on the sideline. Never mind that thereās been a thousand successful coaches who were stoic, this time it matters.
I donāt think too many teams will be overly swayed though, but weāll see. Owners can be dummies.
When I see Lions fans saying stuff like āAG is the better coaching candidateā that is what makes me believe they are trying to convince themselves of that. Now honestly who do you think Lions fans would rather loseā¦Johnson or Glenn??
I was catching my parents up on the series of events by the Bears, and they were dumbfounded. They let Montgomery sign with us, then paid Swift more than we gave Montgomery. They let Roquan Smith walk, then paid just as much to replace him with lesser players. It makes no sense.
I also remember saying to someone at the bar that I thought them going for two points when they did was a mistake
If they are down by two in field goal range on the road with 16 seconds left, I think they manage the clock a lot differently than they did.
Nobody wants to go into overtime in a hostile environment. Especially when the only way they really bottled up our offense was after we started playing conservatively if we get the coin flip in overtime, we probably win the game.
Yep. Going for 2 when they did was āsmartest man in the roomā type stuff. And whatās worse is they didnāt even have a āmoney playā dialed up. They just ran a regular play and hoped it worked. It was bizarre and a complete lack of situational awareness.
I donāt think he tried to throw the game. The Bears went for the win but the play (Caleb changed the play) took way long. There should have been about 3 seconds left if incomplete to tie the game with a FG.
Iām glad it happened the way it did. Practicing situational football is so important in todayās NFL.
