did you already block out Patricia and Quin?

Was that after Thanksgiving?? Plus most Lions coachesā¦.and Iām going back to Darryl Rogers, were fired after the season. Maybe Monte Clark after Thanksgiving but that would have been when I was 4 years old
Who is saying that he is the ābetter coachingā candidate? I have said that I think he might be the more heavily pursued. Why?
Ben -
1:) can you get him or will you have egg on your face like the Panthers and Washington Football Team?
2:). Price tag has been rumored to be extreme
3:) heās sitting out there as the number one offensive guru. With our infrastructure thatās not changing. He can wait for a special job.
4:). heās highly analytical and as a result is likely quite sensitive to coach to owner and coach to GM fits
AG -
1:). If this defensive performance carries forward this yearās coaching job is an all time coordinator performance and when considering the groceries available exceeds anything Ben has done in any one year. The iron is exceptionally hot for AG
2:). The leader of men archetype is going to be in demand. AG is probably the number one guy within that archetype.
3:). AG is a defensive coach and hence is likely to accept a HC offer given certain parameters. Job offers are tougher to come by for DCs.
4:) AG is a minority candidate and. Given the unfortunate bullshit that seems to come with is going to be more open to job openings that may have some warts
All that being said, I agree with you that Ben is clearly the bigger fish.
There are a few that think AG is more ready to be a HC than Ben, only I donāt think they are convinced of that. They say it because they are fine with losing AG but would hate life if Ben left.
Based on what?? I mean the Lions were supposed to suck FOREVER and Dan Campbell was mocked for his opening presser. It was compared to Marty Morhinwegās āThe bar is highā presser!
I think it would be a mistake. Iām still not convinced Caleb is a leader of men. Allen is aging quick, sweat will 29 and DJ Moore 28, no RB worth discussing. No OL-
I think Dan and Brad would take intra division personal, and Chicago doesnāt have the horses. I think Dan C, Goff, and Hank could put that playbook back together if need be.
Iād be more worried if AG went there, but I donāt think heād do that to them either.
Some of us said that before this season when Glenn started to take off. This is a copycat league and teams are beginning to want to replicate Detroitās culture. Youāre more likely to get that with Glenn than Johnson.
Saying that is not a criticism of Johnson. Clearly heād be a HC today if he wanted to be. He will continue to have his pick of jobs because the league will always love its young offensive minds. For the teams looking for a leader and culture builder they are more likely to go the Glenn or Vrabel route. Itās all about what a team is looking for.
P.S. I would hate to lose both. Detroit has a very good chemistry going as a team. Who wouldnāt want to hold that together? Iām all about people chasing their dreams though, so I hope they both find what they are looking for.
They are very injured and beat up. But itās not about their roster. I mean any team thatās looking for a new coach has roster issues so if thatās the reason Ben wonāt take a job then I guess he would stay put right??
Very fair post Dan as always with you. I appreciate it brother. But I have to ask you if you had your choice to lose Ben or AG which one would you choose?
