Yeah I agree but I couldn’t pass him up being there, even Burks might go higher then 28.
You probably either get Hamilton and Burks or Anderson and Burks and I think I would rather have the Anderson and Burks. I’m really high on Anderson I feel he would really fit this defense.and he extra special rushing the passer. Also think Burks is a great fit also.
Yeah. We seem to like a lot of the same players though I am higher on KT than you are. Anderson can go very, very high if he weighs around 250 and still tests well. There are rumors that he plays around 225 though.
Kyle Hamilton S Notre Dame
john Metchie wr Alabama
Kingsley Enagbare DE south Carolina
Owen pappoe lb auburn
Chris Hinton DT Michigan
Wan’Dale Robinson WR Kentucky
Micha McFadden LB Indiana
Al Blades Jr cb Miami
Yeah. OK. Coasted is too strong, but I think the pendulum’s leaning more that way than towards carrying the team. He isn’t a force to be reckoned with. But like I said, he has strengths, but better will come along.
I think he needs some legit NFL wide receivers to throw to before a decision can be made on Goff. That being said with it looking like a weak QB draft class this coming draft I would definitely wait on drafting a QB this year. I’m all for drafting a QB but I’d rather go defense and wide receiver this draft. 2023 hopefully will be a stronger qb class and we can draft a kid to sit behind Goff then transition to starter.
Mine based off of need and what I believe we like and will go after rather than strictly my pure preferences
WR - David Bell of Purdue - not a wow athlete but if you had me apply a Cooper Kuppiness scale to College WRs he’d be near the top of that list. His floor is very, very high and he will be ready to contribute right away. I think we’ll place value on both of those factors.
Interior OL - Jarrett Patterson of Notre Dame - In LA Brad often seemed to target good college OL that may not have had jump off the page traits. I think his positional versatility and long track record of success at a high level program will appeal to us
LB - Devin Lloyd - Utah - he’s basically good at everything. Good athlete but not a Brandon Smith type of athlete. Don’t ask him to be your thumper (he could probably pull it off but it’s a waste) but otherwise he can excel
TE - Isaiah Likely - Coastal Carolina - our Gerald Everett. I think Likely’s even a shade better athlete. Not a people mover in the run game but he’s willing and has the sort of movement skills to offer some range in getting to blocks on second level defenders
DE - Cameron Goode - Cal - I think his staff will love him. Not the twitchiest guy around but he’s a plenty good enough athlete to be an absolute menace pursuing the run game from the back side. He’s just about as good as you’ll ever see at scraping down the line while still maintaining his containment responsibilities. Strong hands, good tackler, rushes the passer well with a variety of moves, can win with speed, technique, flexibility or power and can hold the edge. Kind of a Romeo Okwara type but I think he has greater upside. Best Cal edge since another Cam went there. Under the radar currently but I doubt it stays that way
CB - Tariq Castro-Fields Penn State - just seems like our type. Explosive athlete for such a long corner. Is going to put out some freaky agility test numbers if his Penn State numbers are repeated. I think he’s maybe got a shade more long speed than Iffy, El Jefe or AO but he’s that type of guy but with better change of direction skills
S - Riley Moss - Iowa - cheating here as he’s currently a CB and might be okay there in the pros though I think his ceiling would be a bit pedestrian. I think he could make a lights out safety though. Would really add some serious matchup coverage chops to our back end and I think he’s a good enough tackler to function in the run game. Walker would then be more of the enforcer and I’m not sure the staff favors that so perhaps they go for someone more suited for the run game. Passing league though so I’d love to have a guy like Moss back there and based off of N.O.'s safety preferences I think Dan and AG might agree.
Nice list. Some of “my guys” this year so far in the later rounds:
Jalen Torbert WR - small school guy but he looks like he will translate without a problem.
Khalil Shakir WR - this guy just seems like he has some moxie to him.
Xavier Thomas EDGE He hasn’t put it all together at Clemson and maybe he never will. But he is a raw piece of clay for our coaches.
Some guys I really like on day 1/2 besides the obvious:
Brandon Smith - I feel like it’d be awesome to pair him with Barnes
Jordan Davis - I might be dreaming (perhaps bad scheme fit) but we’d basically have Georgia’s front with Davis and McNeil clogging up the middle. That guy was beasting yesterday.
Honestly Jordan Davis is a bit of a dream scenario.
Alim has shown he can split the double and create pressure, Davis has been pretty dominant with 2 guys on him as well.
…. Neither can be blocked with just 1 guy.
So my dream is to have both those two eating up blocks with Levi/Brockers working a tackle and Thibideux coming off the edge (or J Okwara) with 5 blockers already invested in the first 3 guys while being pretty stout vs the run.
I still think Malik is a create-a-player, you don’t find elite skills like that at the QB spot often but man these last two weeks have looked rough.
We may be better served grabbing a 2nd-3rd round QB and if we don’t hit invest in a QB in 2023 when Bryce Young and a few others come out.
I’m guessing that grade has to be due to the mock draft creator seeing the need for the Lion’s to take a QB 1OA. That’s all I can figure on that nonsense.
Just don’t know how you don’t have LB flying to the ball with blockers eaten up by those two behemoths.
And although downright dominant, NT is one of those positions that doesn’t get targeted highly enough (in my opinion) so I think it’s absolutely possible J Davis is starring at us with the Rams pick.
I don’t know if Sam Howell will make it to round 2, would more likely be Ridder or Pickett and his teeny tiny hands
Yeah. I can see that regarding the position. Personally though I think he’s better than Derrick Brown who went 7. He’s also the best player on what appears to be the best team and that will raise his profile and likely his draft position… He really is a force and I think he’s going to even be able to rush the passer a bit.
