goes back to the so-called “cap” I no longer believe there is a cap when we can easily pay a RB history-making money, just as easily as Coach Dan sneezed yesterday. that tells me that we CAN go get this guy if we damn well want to and pay his ass whatever it takes to make it work, without much of a fuss.
I still think with Gibbs, you were more likely to be a fan if you watched his college highlights but didn’t actually watch Alabama games. Because he only averaged 0.3 yards per carry more than Jase McClellan. 6.1 yards per carry at Alabama was not amazing. Less than Swift at Georgia. He’s a better pro than college player IMO.
The Lions “window” is called Jared Goff.
IF they can replace them when he leaves, it will be called Dan Campbell.

Agreed. Both seem like potentially very risky signings. Both are free agents next offseason. Brad may have to make some difficult decisions.
Agreed. This team hasn’t mortgaged the future to specifically avoid having a window. Players will come and go, and hopefully we get to the promised land with their chosen recipe.

I thought for sure Holmes was going to stay at #6 and take Gonzalez in that draft. Instead, he ended up passing on him twice.
There were beliefs that third time would have been a charm, which is why NE traded up to #17 to nab him right in front of Detroit.

One really good corner is only gonna slow down or stop one of the offensive weapons. There will still be four other targets for the quarterback.
One really good defensive lineman, however they can disrupt the quarterback enough to stop them completely.
I would rather trade for and sign a defensive lineman worth $25-$30 million aav than a corner.
I don’t think Brad is gonna do either, but we’ll see at the deadline.

Indy and Green Bay made bold all-in moves last year. Seems to have worked out well…
the Rams this year will be the true test of all-in moves, but they already kind of proved it works with their Super Bowl. I don’t know, it seems like fortune favors the bold, but so does crippling your franchise for years. I’ll enjoy our contending team for a little while longer before I get desperate. Too many memories of no hope, gotta find a way to feel good for a little stretch.

Yea did Indy win another game after they traded for sauce? And Dallas may have a better roster than GB now. Pretty shocking that the Pats haven’t gotten Gonzales signed already.

The Colts trade for Sauce was stupid at the time, and I said as much on this board at the time. I never would’ve did that.
I have a much different opinion about a potential trade for Gonzalez.
Going “all-in” around Daniel Jones with that player was a bad idea.
In fairness to the colts they were rolling at the time. Would make all the sense in the world for the lions to go all in on Gonzalez because we sure the he’ll can’t draft one.

I’m a believer in sample sizes. The Colts were good against a lackluster schedule for half a season. They also had a quarterback who was playing well for the first time after years of poor play. That’s not an “all-in” situation for me.
We, on the other hands, have been legitimately good for three and a half seasons now. We’re a legit situation to go all-in with.
If you don’t want the job, looks like I gotta call Espnbaby. I’m sure he’s willing to get some dirt on those GM’s.
