I will say Reed looked pretty darn good before he messed up his hammy last year. Hopefully he has a great season, we need it.

And honestly injury has to be part of the equation when deciding whether to pull the trigger or not. Same as a draft pick. “If he gets hurt will this set us back astronomically?” I think it’s a question that can be answered… in the case of Parsons for instance, the answer is no. In the case of Sauce, it’s yes.

It shouldn’t completely sway the move one way or the other, but it should absolutely be a check in the pros/cons box.

I was kidding due to the Lions luck. But it’s definitely a factor. Especially if trading multiple picks. Next thing you know the players injured and you got no beans.

I said our FO gave Gibbs that money without batting an eye as if that money was super easy to come by , and NO- I love Gibbs, he should-have got the extension and earned it. my point was {they had the money for that without any hesitation, so what is the BIG worry that we don’t have any money to sign Gonzales or pay him-that is what 'I 'said.

I’m very on the fence about trades like that and more importantly, it’s absolutely not the MO of our FO, as I’m sure you know.

If you do what you’re suggesting you’re pretty much mortgaging the future for today. I love Gonzalez but he’s already been hurt and if he gets hurt again after sending all those picks and giving him all that money, we are screwed for the short and long run.

If there wasn’t the injury risk (and there always is) I’d be more open to it.

Every team has some weaker spots but our roster talent is up there with anyone. We need some injury luck this year…the last couple years have been so bad, we are due

I had Gonzalez at 6 for us and Gibbs at 18. When we traded down and Gonzalez was still there at 12 I was sure we were going to take him. I loved Gibbs more than anyone else but I bought the common wisdom that said he was going to be available later.
