Harbaugh on the move?

Jim is capt comeback in indy. He is loved here.

Irsay would probably give Jim more control than he would someone else.

He may end up being similar to the current ND coach but I believe he was the DC at ND and maybe elsewhere prior to getting that position. So, at this point, I’m not a fan of Hart getting the position as I think he needs a little more experience first at least as an OC somewhere.

To be fair, Ryan Day completely flipped the script too. It took total embarrassment for him to get his ass in gear. It took him two years to figure out Michigan was a big game, apparently, and that maybe they should show up and play next time.

Yeah, I wanted Ryan Day gone because I haven’t seen that version of Ryan Day’s Buckeyes since Justin Fields beat Clemson in 2020. And if he screws up next year with sloppy teams and soft teams, I’ll re-evaluate again.

So I don’t think people are being inconsistent. Michigan folks want to argue both sides and split it down the middle like usual. You guys went from Ryan Day is soft and born on 3rd to “you guys are dumb for wanting to get rid of him”. All to get the OSU fan, pft.

It’s possible if they pick the right guy. For example, it looks like TCU did when they needed a quality coach. It can happen at Michigan. Heck Sweater Vest came in from the high school ranks and turned Ohio State into a juggernaut for a while.
This idea that many coaches are irreplaceable shows up every year, but history points out, that this is often not true.

He came from Youngstown State

True…

I’ve heard Carolina is in the hunt for Harbs on Twitter. It was from some local Carolina reporter so who knows.

I said both at the same time. Mostly because of the “we’re gonna hang 100 on them” comment. I think Day is a good coach, but what he had to do at Ohio State wasn’t the same as Meyer did. It’s not the same situation Harbaugh walked into, so the comment came off as elitist. Hence the you were born on third comment.

I think any talk to fire a coach with a 90% win percentage is nuts. He’s not that far off from having a championship team.

Because the Super Bowl is the biggest gig.

Yeah, I’m sure you love Day.

I don’t get into the hate coaches stuff dude. It’s a hard gig and I respect the people who are good at it. You won’t see me advocate for anyone’s firing who runs a good program.

Of course not, you’ve beat him twice in a row.

Are you advocating firing him again?

Michigan will never out talent Ohio State at the skilled positions. What they have done is they have won the battle in the trenches by being the more physical team up front. I don’t see that as a problem that’s not correctable by Day. I’m not going to discount the guys 90% win record when the issue is correctable. Most Michigan fans realize Michigan will have to open things up more if they are going to stay competitive in this rivalry.

The thing is…Michigan didn’t even do that in the Cooper years. Many times those Ohio State teams were superior in talent to the Michigan teams that they lost to

I’d like to see Harbs get a team like: The Raiders, The Dolphins, The Browns or The Commanders.

Speaking of the commanders… I heard Ron Rivera didn’t know they could be eliminated by losing Sunday?? Like he wasn’t aware? Is that true?

Edit: here it is… I don’t know exactly how to take his comments but man… that’s not good any way you slice it

Lol Jim Harbaugh… this guy is really something… what’s sad is he is destroying his own recruiting every year so even if UM wanted to consider competing with the SEC nobody trusts he will be there. His song and dance is getting so old.

For as much as he claims to be a “Michigan man” he certainly doesn’t do his Alma mater any favors in the off season.

Define “very good”.

That’s a big part of the stand off with Warde Manual. Jim doesn’t feel Warde is all in on this. Manual pushed back after the season, and Harbaugh doesn’t like it.

This is where Harbaugh gets the reputation for wearing on administrations. His relationship with Manual seems to be getting to that point, but Harbaugh knows what he wants for the program and isn’t willing to settle. The problem for Michigan is if Harbaugh can’t move Michigan to be more committed to NIL, the transfer portal, salary pools, etc, then who will?

Michigan has to decide what they want the program to be going forward. What they decide could make Harbaugh’s decision for him.
