speaking of wise/old adages…my grandpa used to tell me ā€˜your so fast you wipe your ass before you take a shit’
this was a reference to me completing my work and helping others when I made cement statues as a young’n in Evart, MI

This seems like a terrible strategy.:joy: Perhaps James Houston did that.

The last video I saw of Hutchinson walking it looked like he had lost a lot of weight. He’s got some serious work to make it back……but if he has a chance to play in a SB why wouldn’t he? Howie long talks about winning a SB his rookie year and never making it back. I love our window but you never really know.

The dude is skinny by NFL standards to begin with.

I can promise you he is not down much if anything. He and his people are maniacal about fitness and health. So I highly doubt he has dipped in his weight much. Plus I am sure he has been able to lift upper after 2-3 weeks. So his upper half is likely as big or bigger.

But I do agree with the leg. I am not sure how you fight off that shrinkage. Maybe electro stimulus? That seems the major road block to me. How do you put that power back in place?

Anyway, this is a crazy awesome Lions season. Let’s hope it is the one that finally gets the monkey off their backs.

Hutch was jacked coming into this season. His legs especially. Not being able to Squat and dead lift there is no way he was keeping his size. Even working his upper body you have to have your legs for balance and stability. Now I’ll admit it’s hard to really gauge someone’s size based on a video but what I saw was pretty shocking.

But he’s young, has an amazing body foundation, the best doctors and nutrition. If he just now walking without a cane at what point is he able to get into the weight room and practice? If there’s anyone who could do this it’s Hutch but damn he doesn’t have a lot of time.

Muscle atrophy happens pretty quickly when you can’t put any weight on your leg. One former teammate in particular snapped his ankle and it was almost comical how skinny his one calf and quad was compared to the other. The good news is he’s young and can easily regain full strength in the offseason. But you’re point is spot on. He could be a little light in the pants not being able to squat or deadlift for a couple months.

you do know that Hutch has been at a few of our games, up in the stands. Hutch does not quit and is a workout warrior…in addition he has been walking outside the pool for weeks, all he needs is to be cleared by our medical staff to play.

IF they had him in a bed for months, he could-have lost weight, then add him exercising losing more yet, he probably looks a little skinny right now. It is easy to gain weight, than it is to lose. but some people are skinny no matter what, anyway he will get back to the HUTCH we know…

Man, if he can make it back what a great storyline it will be for the Super Bowl. Not to mention our brick salesman kicker, our bridge quarterback, our disrespected wide receiver, patrick’s come back, a crazy coach, Gibbs & Monty, all headed up by the director of college scouting. Oh, and let’s not forget Chris Spielman, pulling the strings behind the curtain, as well as Sheila taking the reigns and turning around a moribund franchise. The NFL has to be drooling.

And they added boobies, which is always a good thing.

I have no doubt he will get back I’m just not believing he can do it before a NFC Championship game. But I do believe that if anyone can do it it’s Hutch. Would make for one hell of a story for sure!

I also heard they got him on some experimental horse steroids from a black market in China…so I’m expecting 4 to 5 sacks in his first game back.

that would be hilarious. hutch shows up and his broken leg is 3 times the size of his other leg. uses it to vault right over the olinemen onto the QB. DEATH FROM ABOVE!!!

My calf was comically small and shriveled after spending 6 weeks in a full cast. If you compared it to my other leg it looked like a prune standing next to a plum. Obviously I didn’t have access to best rehab money can buy, so it took over a year before I could run without having the injured leg run out of strength.
