MAJOR red flag.
First of all, kudos to Carter. For all his talent, it certainly wasn’t given that he’d be showing out to the degree he has so far. Good on him.
But, as with Swift in re injury, the question w/Carter is; will the impressive version of the player keep showing up? Hutch and Alim did HUGE work on their bodies in the offseason. What will JC do? I have zero worries about our guys getting in real trouble off-field. Do the Eagles feel the same way about Carter?

My bigger concern is that the coaches wouldn’t go to bat for him. Say what you want about our insistence on high-character football guys, but I suspect the second that happened he was off our board. There was no way we were gonna draft him.

If this was a Charles Rogers vs Andre Johnson situation, I’d be pissed if they took the guy with red flags. But I think it was a big mistake passing on Carter and especially for a 200 lb RB.
And I think getting Jalen away from Georgia could potentially fix most of his issues. He’s far from the only one to get out of control there. That might be partly why their recruiting has been so good, knowing you can go there and act like an idiot and there will be no repercussions. At least until the dead bodies show up…

He just laughed off a Bucs double team and got a sack that forced a fumble (recovered by Bucs).
And then on the next play, forced another fumble (recovered by Eagles).

LaPorta for sure. Gibbs is not having the impact Carter is, though.
