I think Jamo might not be too bad, given the gambling situation, missing his rookie year etc.
It’s hard to say what he will get right now, but I dont think would be ARSB level of a contract, but easily above a 15 mil per year contract.

The salary cap is going up faster than player salaries.
The Lions shouldn’t have any issues keeping any of those dudes as along as they aren’t trying to reset the market at their position
I’m hoping/thinking it will be somewhere between $17-21M/year or so.
Specifically, faster than non-QB salaries. The Lions already have the toughest piece locked up. In a couple years, Goff’s contract is going to be a premium discount.
Sometimes it’s hard to be a Detroit Lions fan…

Salary cap will keep going up. So its a good deal.
Alim is much cheaper now than he will be next year. Great signing and a foundational piece. Dude has earned it and is absolutely a top 10 DT.
Awesome news
Now go get a DE

He’s gonna celebrate by ripping Sam Darnold’s legs off this Sunday.
Also, Brad taking care of his own is just part of what makes him great.
Love Alim…been hyping him for 2 straight offseasons but wow is that a shit ton of money…

I guess Brad saw Dan flexing on the Cowboys last Sunday and he was a bit jealous, so he decided to flex on Jerry Jones.
Good luck on signing Parsons, Jerrah.

Free agents and college kids looking to sign with/get drafted by the Lions because they take care of their guys:

Congratulations, Mac!
I agreed with every single other contract this offseason!!!
I was thinking $20 a season was max for him
Big number for the big man… The market is what it is, he’s a force multiplier so I’m down with paying him, especially with about only half being guaranteed. He’s young, no injury history, has improved every year, it adds to the culture of paying guys who buy in and produce… All positives from this move.
I’d argue it already is.
As it pertains to Safeties and tight ends they don’t make that much money relatively speaking.
The player I’m worried about shaking loose is Jamo because I can another team with a lot of cap space overpaying
I’m VERY confident that what they’re doing is part of their plan for the guys they want to sign, as well as the guys they have signed. That’s goodenuf fer me!
He also has 7.5 sacks in his last 18 games… That’s darn good for a DT.
I posted this in the Akers thread for some reason, but it belongs here:
Has there been another non-QB draft class by a team to get this kind of money?
Sewell 28m/yr
ARSB 30m/yr
McNeill 24.5m/yr
Wow. Talk about hitting a draft class.
