Lions TRADE! We DIDNT trade 3 3rds

It’s not about panicking. And it’s not just about this year. 2023: which DE did we draft? 2024: which DE did we draft? 2025: which DE have we drafted so far? For some reason Brad does not like drafting DEs. Maybe he thinks the separation between a top 5 ranked DE and the 40th ranked DE is marginal. He knows more than I do but given how thin our current roster is at DE, I’m concerned. Maybe he has Za’darius waiting in the wings.

We got some help coming…

But go ahead and freak out.

He’s been running around town in Lion’s apparel, two months after being let go.
Yeah, I think there might be a chance.

…or, he takes what comes to him, and so far, Hutch, Houston, and some “IDL tweeners” have been BPA.

It’s all assumptions. Some folks say winning is all that matters. if that’s the barometer, what Brad has been doing has worked very well. We were the worst defense in NFL history over a 3 year span (if I’m remembering correctly), when Holmes took over.

That guy is doing awesome!

I’m guessing he thinks Hutch is a good player.

Let’s not blanket statement everyone here as smart and logical. Love my brothers and every single person who has a relationship with me in here knows I respect them…but there are others (so anyone I’ve ever talked to on here I am not referring to you…I am gonna really hammer this point home @Snags and I have in the past had some battles and said some mean things to each other. I respect the shit out of him and value his input after some growth on my end…but we all know there are dudes on here who aren’t smart or logical If we are talking logic then don’t start a thread saying your all on board a train for tibs bc that makes no logical sense at all. They passed him up for Hutch, Dorsey is Brad’s dude and he was gonna walk if they took him over hutch, dude has a horrible work ethic, they view him as a turd. It’s not logical to think he fits.

Yep, @QBHATER90 have had our share of go-arounds but we still respect each other and hug it out…and then we lock horns again, it happens.
My advice to you @JD9 is either you grow some stones and understand that not everyone is going to agree with you or you just become a silent reader of the site.

It’s going to take the Lions to be in the bottom of the league in sacks to prove we need some from of a DE. This will prove Holmes wrong

Grow stones? Being sensitive may be an issue I have that doesn’t belong on a fan forum. But you need to learn some respect and how to talk to people. Or do you only give advice and not take it?

Btw me being transparent about how I feel doesn’t mean I don’t have “stones.” I’m not afraid to express myself…but I’m definitely not soft in any shape of the word. I’m just not an intentional xxxhole

You threatening to run and hide in your room every time someone disagrees with you means you have no stones. Grow up or shut up, it’s pretty simple…or is that not sensitive enough for you?

So you’re a tough guy on a message board and that means you have stones and don’t? You are deliberately an xxxhole and I am open about being sensitive and bit over the top…and that makes you :muscle:t2: and me soft. Haha ok…

Get off your virtual world man. There’s a lot more out there than this.

Here you’re gonna need this back after your next response to me. Clean yourself up after patting yourself on the “back” for the epic rebuttal.

You owe him an apology

Brother being sensitive isn’t an issue.

You are a human with emotions. We have senses.
Embrace them…express them.

The issues arise when

A) you give too many ■■■■■ (this is different then caring)

B) you take things personally

A guy like Michael Jordan took shit personally, and it drove him to greatness.

It’s all about how you respond.

A fool reacts

A master responds

You aren’t wrong.

I’ve never received a cordial response from Snags in the history of this board. He either doesn’t like me or likes to poke because he knows how I will respond if he does. Both say a lot about him. I should just keep my mouth shut…you are right.

I do not shy away or dislike that I am sensitive. I would rather have compassion and respect than the alternative for sure. Can I be disrespectful at times, absolutely. But if you are someone who shows respect I apologize everytime.

@Snags cool.

You @JD9 cool.

Sometimes personalities just don’t mesh and it’s okay not to like each other.

Just do what I do,

When anyone mentions @stephenboyd57 just walk right up to him and slap the taste right out his mouth

Dude, I’m not trying to be a dick I just am going to tell you things bluntly. It’s a message board, you might think I’m a dick or someone else like @QBHATER90 is or whoever, don’t respond to them or me and don’t say you’re going to quit the board every time someone isn’t as nice to you as you think they should be.
I mean no disrespect, just don’t let people get to you. I get it, it’s not always easy but we try to be cool with everyone here but you pissing and moaning about every move does get a little old and annoying, so whatever…but you’re entitled to your opinion…and people are entitled to not have to agree with you.

From my count, Holmes has executed 13 draft day trades since becoming the GM of the Lions. Of those 13 trades the returning trade chart values were less than the given trade chart values 9 of 13 times.

So despite the successes or failures of the players obtained through those trades why is it that Holmes can’t seem to get fair return values with these other GMs?

And of the 6 draft day trades over the 2025 and 2024 drafts he has only gained a greater return value 1 time.

It actually seems out of character with the way he handles other aspects of player acquisitions and contracts.

I recognize that those crazy trade value charts aren’t the end all / be all of valuations, but it can certainly start showing a pattern over time.

And I actually feel those charts don’t recognize the differences between the 3rd round tier of players and the 6th round tier of players near enough.

The difference of a 3rd round player eventually being a contributing member of your team versus a 6th round player are astoundingly different to me.

I want to see the Holmes that took the Rams behind the woodshed when trading Stafford on draft days as well. Stop letting these other GMs rake you.

And for the love of God stop giving away 3rd round picks. Those 3rd round picks are, to me, foundational pieces that help build depth and stability across the team.

Getting picks back in trades trumps value on a trade chart

Especially when you draft as well as Brad

Not as valuable as Terrian Arnold or CD3 were to us.

Watch how the rest of the draft shakes out

We are getting a good guys round 6

…and trading comp pick is round 4 not round 3

Again pushing the narrative of me complaining about everything. It’s completely false and cited a single take that I have mentioned multiple times…

And being blunt, loling, talking down to people makes you an xxx. It’s not “oh I’m blunt so it’s ok.”

You do you though and I’ll do me. Being blunt and insensitive is your thing…that’s cool I guess :+1:t2: I absolutely have an issue being thin skinned on here. I notice it and try my best to stay away. You should maybe recognize that the way you respond to some also isn’t very pleasant. But maybe that’s more acceptable because we aren’t talking to people face to face.

I agree with the trades used to acquire both those players. But that’s why I tried to state that specific players aside, why is Holmes losing on return valuations so much lately.

There really isn’t any way to judge the valuation of a 3rd for CD3 (picks for players). But on the Arnold trade, Holmes lost a valuation of -124 points.

So awesome, love that he traded to get Arnold, but why is he not able to negotiate a better return? Why is he on the losing side of trade valuation almost every single time he excutes picks for picks trades lately?

I think both Amon-Ra and Jammo would agree that the fines have gotten out of hand but BB would tell you that players at all positions are getting fined.

Yep, in another video I watched they said he lined up outside a lot, but motioned inside pre snap, a lot like they do with Jamo and ARSB, when they were passing… I think he blocked a lot when he was lined up outside, which is what initially caught Holmes’s eye… But 90% of his catches come from him lining up at the slot. I agree I don’t think he’s strictly a slot guy, Brad Holmes said as much in the presser… But he has almost no experience running an outside route tree and he’ll have to get up to speed quickly to make this pick make sense IMO. Clearly the FO and coaches think he’s capable… It’d be a huge get if he can develop as an outside receiver.
