I’d rather have Quintero. He’s further away but is a more complete prospect imo. He is also a righty. They would have to add more of course.
In case you guys haven’t figured this out about me, I’m more of a “acquire the bat and then figure out the defense” kind of person. I’d be ok with a “sufficient but not optimal” arm in RF to get that bat in our lineup.
Hell I don’t think we have an “optimal” arm out there anyways right now.
We will tomorrow night. Clark has a cannon.
You sure he’s not playing center?
Id expect him to play center. Didn’t really think about it to be honest.
Either way his arm won’t be a problem.
The Kid called our draft pick. I think he’s psychic. I’ll go with what he says.
I meant to clarify and say that I don’t think we have an “optimal” arm specifically in right field.
Agree ■■■■ that guy get him outta here
Bet we can get 2 kawasaki jet skis for him
i was pretty adamant about trading Skubal during the offseason. I’m skeptical that they can get anywhere near the same package now. So part of me is now of the mindset of waiting till the last second and if they can get in striking range just bite the bullet and go for it. The AL sucks and if they can get in the Tigers are absolutely talented enough to get through to the series. But they absolutely have to sweep the As for me to get behind this strategy.
Assuming KM wins the rookie of the year and they get below the luxury tax they’d have three top 30 picks. If they go below slot on 1 of them they could easily get two top 15ish draft prospects next year. Seems like a fair trade off if they can get into the dance.
Their not going to get much for Skubal now. Maybe one top 100 prospect. And 3 more players.
I fear you are right and I hope you are a bit wrong.
Best case scenario is that someone trying to upset the Dodgers makes the big move to secure the top line starter rental. It only takes one person being desperate to do a Smoltz for Alexander deal.
LAD have done whatever they want without giving up top players in their farm system. Harris was smart dont trade just to trade
Under the current rules? Sure. But they have no clue what is coming next in terms of salaries and what not. So the Skubal thing might be a rental for them as well which may change the calculus. They are about to get a bunch of high end power pitching back soon as well.
more interested in the other teams than the Dodgers as I think that is where you could drive up the return.
NL Teams nead to compete with LA to get to the WS, Skubal game 1 in a series goes a long way to strengthen those odds.
AL teams, AL is historically weak this year and again Skubal would put you near the top if not the top with odds to get to the WS. Then he increases the odds of getting past LA. Blue jays made it to game 7, 11inning.
I wonder with hindsight if a Skubal trade might not have gone through this offseason…because another team might have failed his physical with his elbow issue.
Skubal said he had that loose body issue as far back as January. If I was another team, I wouldn’t trade for a guy with a year left on his deal if I figured out he’d spend some of that year dealing with a procedure in his throwing elbow.

The Dodgers have 9 Top 100 prospects, mostly outfielders They can one up any offer on the market Name I’m intrigued by is Mike Sirota Righty who walks almost as much as he strikes out. Batting .325 with a 1.011 OPs in AA. Good blend of power/speed
Unrelated but since I have so little baseball to flex on.

That kid is 17. That is in a low A ball park that slightly leans pitcher friendly. 448 with ease.
And it’s two way. Here he is playing away from his natural shortstop. He and Josuar are going to be special if they stay healthy.
We do as of today
