Those deals were stupid. Devers is defensible bc FA bats never want to go there. He’s been a .917 OPS guy since his terrible first month + of the season. They need him to be that type of guy for the next four years at least in order to minimize the ugly side of the deal. Given his work ethic seems unlikely Adames blows and now it is coming to light that he’s difficult to as well. He’s not a good enough hitter to make up for the defense. Ron Washington’s defensive coaching chops is one of the few bright spots on the Giants staff and apparently Adames has been dismissive of help. Chapman would be fine except that he moves Schmitt off of the spot where he too plays elite defense.

That is a surprising haul for Doval. His value should be significantly lower than when the Giants sold him off and that is arguably as much. Or close to it. Definitely seems like a sellers market though that can always be position by position or deal by deal.
Doval killed righties, but in Yankee Stadoum he was getting immolated by lefties.

He’s better when if he’s not a closer and in a small market. Even during his good two year stretch as a closer he was one of those by the skin of your teeth adventurous save types. I never felt the game was put away when he was out there. It’s electric stuff but he’s never going to know quite where it’s going.
A lot of rumors about Ray and Arraez being packaged to Tampa with SF picking up the money. That’s probably their best shot at getting a top 100 guy. Flewelling would be perfect and with Bodine’s ascension I think he could be had.
Arraez, Yandy Diaz, and Chandler Simpson on the same team has to make them the most annoying lineup in the league to face.
