Moves for Sunday and Manu to IR

Can we just agree that neither Skip or Manu (for now) are good enough?

Jefferson is an interesting roster addition. He has been a productive player in his career. Might help the pass rush. He has 28.5 career sacks and 81 qb hits.

In 2023 for example which aint far removed he had 6 sacks with the Jets. He could help us in a depth rotational role. Can give us some interior pressure since Wingo seems way down the depth chart

These injuries are just stupid at this point, just constantly the last two years

I guess I was trying to say this. Thank you.

Neither are a complete answer right now.

One is green and the other a bit broken down. Choose wisely. And I get it, the old bull might be able to have a day based on experience.

I can definitely agree that neither is good enough for a long term solution. Hopefully Skipper or Cochran or someone can give us some competent LT play and let Decker’s shoulder rest until he is ready to finish the year.

As far as Quinton Jefferson, he looks like another big DE. 6’4, 291. Does this mean the Lions have soured a bit on Tyler Lacy? It looks like they are both about the same size. I thought Lacy had played fairly well the past couple of games. Maybe they just like Jefferson’s pass rush ability a bit more?

Edit: Watching some highlights of Jefferson, it looks like he typically lines up at DT, and is pretty skilled at splitting double teams. I wonder if they like Jefferson’s ability to get pressure from the middle and force the QB off his spot.
2nd Edit: Yeah from his highlights, he is a pass rushing DT and gets a lot of his sacks beating double teams, and from never giving up on a play. I would imagine that the Lions see this game especially going as Hutch and Muhammad pressuring Mahomes from the edges, and wanting someone who can take Mahomes down if he tries to step up into the pocket. For what we do and how we will use him, I think Jefferson could be a good DT in spot duty. I think he will steal some of Lopez’s reps. Tyliek/Reader will cover most of the interior snaps, Jefferson and Lopez will rotate in and our for interior pressure on passing downs.

The Chiefs pass more on 1st down than every team in the NFL. Getting a quick sack would be a great way to keep the Chiefs playing behind the down and distance.

Can’t argue that one!

Skipper was not good last year when playing Left Tackle. Hopefully he’s gotten better but i doubt it, luckily Mike Danna is about just as bad as Skipper.

My Chiefs buddy says that the two biggest losses for the Chiefs defense was S Justin Reid, and DT Mike Pennel. He says Pennel was one of their best interior pressure guys. The Chiefs chose to resign Derrick Nnadi instead and he has not been nearly as effective. Justin Reid was their leader in the secondary and made sure everyone was in the right spot. They are missing his leadership.

Karlaftis is pretty darn good. He will be salivating to face Skipper.

Really hope we get the running game going. Feels like a game that Gibbs could really go off on.

Chiefs just seem off still can’t believe they were up 14 and lost to the jags.

Mahomes leading the Chiefs in rushing can’t be a good thing for them.

Depth Chart for the game

From what I’ve seen, Karlaftis only plays the other side.

Really? Well I think they would be crazy not to let him work Skipper. Karlaftis has as many qb hits as Hutch. Both have 12 in 5 games. I believe that is tops in the nfl

I find it hard to believe that Cochran is not better than either Skip or Manu.
