NBA Offseason 2026

Sasser is very much expendable rn, and it makes sense to try to find a package for him to get an upgrade there if possible.

Yep. That was always my exact comp for him going back to early this year. Better playmaker and defender, worse rebounder and shot maker coming into the league. Think Koa has more upside but Corliss has alway been the North Star for me.

Also Brandon Jennings too

though i think the upside on Okorie is really high, he would have been a top 10 pick if it wasnt for his height (its a legit knock). He was only behind both Dybansta and Acuff in scoring for Freshmen this year, and he shot well on a good clip. Hes a Morey-Ball kinda player, drives to the rim with his fast first step and acceleration for layups and can shoot 3, both on and off ball, and he creates his own shot too.

Small Guard will always be a knock against him, but hes got the tools and scoring that the Pistons need desperately behind Cade. I know people want a vet mainly to help with that, but Okorie fits into that roll

Get Norman Powell if possible and this team has gotten a significant upgrade in shooting and playmaking

Sasser probably.

I advise people to watch Okorie highlights. He’s very impressive and has a big wingspan so he looks bigger than his listed height. I see a lot of upside here

Brandon Jennings peaked at like 15 years old. But man was he awesome at 15.

Yeah its a Brandon Jennings that peaks later is a decent comp for Okorie lmao

I just remember bc he was commmitted to AZ. They were on him for a while and I remember watching highlights. Same guy as a Sr. and a Soph.

I’d like to apologize for my violent crash-out last night.

These threads on the Pistons are pretty comical. We are like two years removed from being the worst team in the NBA, and even doubting whether Cade would ever become ā€œhimā€ and stay healthy consistently. Now we are in the conversation of being a top 5-7contender next year, after an improbably year over year over year meteoric rise, and suddenly the expectations are borderline silly.

Half the posts question whether Ausar and or Duren will be effective cornerstone pieces of a Championship caliber team, and then act like we are ā€œone trade away?ā€

So if Cade isn’t a top 3 player in the entire league…. Duren and Ausar aren’t building blocks…. Then why would we expect to win a ring?

Trey Murphy would be an awesome add 100%, but I don’t think having a time machine that allowed us to swap Stew, Holland, and Duncan (picks) for Trey automatically gets us in the ECF in 26’?

Iveys explosiveness alone allowed him to dominate in college. His passing, his shot selection, his range, and his defense were all questions and his height/wingspan was solid but not elite. Okories highlights are far more polished and efficient, but the step back 3’s from well behind the arc, and ability to penetrate and float shots remind you a bit of a Brunson.. I love this pick. He is a a BUCKET

Cade, Ausar, and Duren are 24, 23, and 22- so it’s not like 27’ is a ā€œwindowā€ once we lock all 3 up. If Okorie can become a 18.0 pts 3 rebs 3 assists with solid perimeter D and 1-2 steals per?

I think Powell could be the easy target pending what Herro or Murphy cost

its fine dawg lol, we get it overall

[Marc Stein] The Lakers today secured Austin Reaves’ commitment on a new deal after rising interest from Detroit, league sources say. I’m told the Pistons began maneuvering to make a real run at Reaves that would’ve required, among other moves, trading Isaiah Stewart for needed flexibility.

[Charania] Reaves was expected to receive free agent interest from multiple teams, including the Detroit Pistons, on a maximum-level salary, so the Lakers stepped up on Wednesday to lock in their homegrown talent. Reaves averaged 23.3 points on 49% shooting with 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds last season

I do think if we get Herro, we are extending him (which wouldnt surprise me)

I’m pretty happy we didn’t end up doing this.

I’ve already said it somewhere on here but I feel that Austin Reaves is pretty overrated.

Reaves sucks almost as bad as Herro. Pistons need a legit second option, with enough athleticism to be a plus defender during a playoff run. Those guys aint it

I thought maybe you had Titus Young over to your dorm room…

I guess I wasn’t paying attention – those are really good numbers.
A max contract for Reaves. Wow.

Austin Reaves also plays the worst defense of anybody we’ve been linked with so far and I’m not sure how close it is.

He’s a worse defender than Herro IMO.
