Would you trade 3 1sts for Trey Murphy? Rumors are that the Pistons have offered that to the Pelicans for Trey Murphy and Joe Dumars said no.

I would make a play for Murphy if I could. The odds of a draft pick turning into Murphy are low….give me the player.

I understand that Jalen’s got his feelings hurt by Detroits initial offer, but at what point do you reach out to him and his agent to reinitiate negotiations? I understand it hasn’t been that long since FA started but at some point Jalen…..read the room.

My concern is what some of mentioned in the media…….does he really value the bag over winning? Or is it simply a leverage play……if it isn’t a leverage play and he wanted out and wants the bag at all costs, doesn’t bode well for the team moving forward.

Late 1st round picks are nothing more than a crap shoot. Maybe at best you will hit and find a descent role player.

I would agree but I just don’t see where the leverage comes from given that there are few teams willing to sign an offer sheet for him at the max. No one besides the Pistons have that kind of cap space. The best teams can do is hope for a sign and trade. And in my opinion Sacramento offering Sabonis for Duren in a sign and trade is a joke.

And yet they did it anyway knowing they don’t really have a number two next to Tatum. To me that should tell you a lot about how they actually value the contribution versus the contract for Brown going forward as should the underwhelming deal that people think they got for him. Got to remember that was the best offer they received they likely received plenty of other lower offers

I’ve seen people saying there’s a report we’ve offered three picks for him but I haven’t seen that actual report anywhere.
It’s the craziest thing about this fanbase.
Ausar, Duren, Holland etc have either peaked… OR they are bound to be much better players, at least 2 of them. Brown, Sabonis, George etc are never gonna be better than they were 2-3 years ago.
If Duren and Ausar ARE NOT elite players here on 2 years, then did we really have a foundation?
It’s odd right? Everyone finally accepts Cade is “him” but doubts everyone else and want a magic roster rebuild?
Cade, Heurter, Brown, Collins, Reed? No chance we pay Duren and Brown and we’d need to trade Ausar to get him right?

My gut says Lavern and Holland along with a first become Michael Porter Jr to finish the offseason. Then we are cleaner and better at every spot than last year

I’m usually pretty level headed but it pissed me off seeing Brown go for that little. That’s a trade the Pistons could have easily done. It would have been a challenge to fit in Brown’s salary but you make that work to fit in a player of that caliber. Missed opportunity IMO.
