True, but it’s also important to remember that Rodgers wasn’t expected to slide the way he did. There was no indication that he was going to make it out of the top 10. I could see the exact same thing happening here.
Don’t forget that one of the reasons why Rodgers tumbled was because he’s an arrogant prick that rubbed teams the wrong way and made them question whether he could lead a franchise or not. With the benefit of hindsight we realize he has the talent to back up his arrogance, but back then teams didn’t know that.
Kadarius Toney does some eye-popping things here:
His year-to-year progression is Joe Burrow-like.
SEC Championship game vs. Alabama DBs who are going to be high NFL draft picks:
8 rec. , 153 yd., 19.1 avg., 1 TD
Yeah, he really impressed me with his WR skills in that game. I already knew that he was a great Percy Harvin style weapon but he’s come a lot further as a pure receiver then I had realized.
The more I watch of him, the more I think Romeo Doubs of Nevada really has something to him. He’s smooth, good hands, and really good feet for a bigger receiver.
Tamorion Terry of FSU. 6’4” 205-210 lbs and can fly
My opinion is we don’t draft WR until late rounds unless your last name is Chase. If Chase is available in round 1 you have to consider him as he is an unbelievable talent. I like Surratt and think he will be an awesome slot receiver in the NFL. Later in the draft i like T. Terry and the speedster Stevenson.
I like Amari Rodgers from Clemson. He reminds me of Golden Tate. I am also a fan of Waddle at Alabama.
Yeah Rodgers is one of my faves too for value, but I’m worried he’s starting to rise up draft boards too high.
I like Doubs as well. His production has cooled off. He reminds me a bit of Marvin Jones to be honest.
In terms of small school guys (aside from Darden who I know we agree on) I really like Jalen Tolbert of South Alabama as well. Not sure he declares though.
I’m surprised to see Tutu go this soon.
It’s all about the speed. The Rams just wanted someone who can stretch out the DB’s to open up lanes underneath.
When your name is Tutu it wouldn’t make any sense for him to go in round Threethree or Fourfour. ![]()
Surprised Mayfield lasted this long.
JAELON DARDEN - could be an interesting pick tomorrow…
