That is exactly why he is a free agent pretty much every year.
The guy can hit singles but really doesnât offer much of anything else.
That being said, I would still take him over some of the hitters on our team that offer even less.

2026- Skub 25m Mize 6m Flaherty 20m Olson 1m Melton 1m $53m
2027 Skub $45m Jobe 1.2m Melton 1m Olson 4m totalling $51.2m, and 5th starter could be a FA that drops into the 2 or 3 slot, could be Mize on a 5/90ish, could be vet arm guy, could be SGL/Montero. Depends whwre they want to spend.
If Skub bolts, then they are more likely to bring Mize back and go and shoot at available FA like Corbin Burnes, Gerrit Cole, Logan Webb, Luis Castillo, George Kirby, and Spencer Strider. Burnes is an opt out. My guess is Webb or Kirby.
TBH, its a pretty high ceiling rotation with Skub Jobe Melton and a good vet like Shota or Castillo or PivettaâŚor Mize. And Reese is no slouch.
