The current collective bargaining agreement expires on Dec 1st.
Because of that we may see things move a little faster this year. Some may want to get things done before it all becomes a big mess.

I do think you will see something happen with Skubal, sooner, rather than later.
It’s gonna be tough to assess our needs until we know if he will be here, or not, and what players we would have coming back if we do trade him.

I like and have always enjoyed watching tigers but I am not nearly as close to mlb as I am NFL and nhl.
Should I think of a qualifying offer like an RFA type deal in nfl?

My understanding is that it’s a 1 year $22M offer that he had until the 18th to accept. If he declines, he’ll become a free agent, and if he signs elsewhere, we will be eligible to recieve a compensatory draft pick.

QO to Gleyber is a no downside move. Free draft pick. None of those guys on that list will take the offer I believe. Mayyyyybe Woody. He missed some $$ with that injury, but pitched well for half a year full recovered. He may like it in Milwaukee too.
Could always accept and then sign bigger deal too.
