I for one would love signing Devin Williams

Educated and Bleacher Report in the same post…doesn’t work.

We need him to sign a contract with another team that is north of 50 mill. We will get an extra first round pick at the end of the first round if he does.

If he signs for less than 50 mill we get a pick at the end of the second round.

He’s interesting. Cause he was unreal at age 21 and 22… The last few years his numbers are down a bit. Kinda strange. Almost like the pitchers figured him out a bit.

His 2022 season was insane. 56 homers but most seasons is more like a 30 homer guy

2023 and 2024 he was still good but not the same elite guy. And then in 2025 his numbers were very good again but missed half the season

As long as your okay with him striking out as much as Riley Greene he should bring power. But he strikes out a ton.

His market will be interesting

The Dodgers probably have first dibs on all these guys anyways. I fully expect Murakami and Imai to both be playing in LA next year.

It would not surprise me. Pretty soon it’ll be like playing Japan in the World Baseball Classic every time you play those ■■■■■■■. Ohtani would surely be betting heavy on it!

The other issue with him is he is just a terrible defensive 3rd basemen. Most scouts saying 1st base, and most likely DH more often than not. So the Dodgers are actually probably out on him with Freeman and Ohtani.

Can we bring in Kawa to be the play-by-play announcer with Benetti?

Do we have to keep Benetti or can we trade both booth guys?

I’m fine with 100% Kawa.

He also mentioned that the Tigers want to keep him long term.

So…it’s exactly as we thought it would be. The one issue is Scott Boras.

The crux of the issue

That’s on Skubal to set Boras straight. Boras does work for him after all.

Skubal likes the Tigers but not enough to take a massive discount. Trade him yesterday.

Never go full scott

I was a little surprised at McKinstry winning thinking it was as a 3rd baseman. Now see that it was as the Utility Player designation.

And hopefully, Greene can clean up his Strike Outs, but nice recognition for him though.

############################################################################

Utility player: Zach McKinstry, Tigers (first win)

This was quite a breakout season for McKinstry, a 30-year-old who was a 33rd-round Draft pick of the Dodgers back in 2016. Acquired by the Tigers in a minor trade with the Cubs in March 2023, McKinstry established himself as a key piece in Detroit this year, becoming a first-time All-Star. He had a .259/.333/.438 slash line, 113 OPS+, while pairing 12 home runs with 23 doubles and 11 triples and stealing 19 bases. McKinstry more than earned the utility designation, starting games at second base, third base, shortstop and both corner outfield spots.

Outfield: Riley Greene, Tigers (first win)

A second-time All-Star this season at age 24, Greene continued to ramp up his power production. He launched 36 home runs (tied for fifth in the AL) and notched 111 RBIs (fourth), while slugging .493. This is Detroit’s first season with a Silver Slugger winner since 2016 (Miguel Cabrera), and Greene is the first Tigers outfielder to earn one since 2015 (J.D. Martinez).
