K Raymond hard to beat out as he is very good for us on Special Teams. I definitely have a different eval of I Williams than you do though. I think he instantly has the best start stop, change of direction, and acceleration as soon as he steps on the practice field with the 90 other players this fall.
That said, this Ukwu kid is sharp, eh? Bachelor’s in Computer Science and working on his Master’s in Sports Analytics. FBI is a real thing with Dan.
Might want to get those eyes checked. He accelerates as me decelerates exceptionally well. Don’t take my word for it. He was #1 WR in acceleration at the shrine by a wild margin.
According to the GPS tracking data he accelerated nearly 20% faster than the #2WR there. So not only is acceleration not an issue for him but it’s actually a downright dominant trait for him. He was 4th in deceleration as well.
He is a virtual lock to make the practice squad at least. Contract alone dictates that.
BYU fans seem to think he’s a pretty good blocker. Sounds more like understanding angles type rather than a downright people mover though.
He was on my fantasy team for a couple of weeks last year as I played musical chairs after Gadsden got hurt, which, uh, probably isn’t pertinent at all to anything we’ve said here. I just wanted to mention it.
It also adds some additional nuance when we inevitably choose to mock a short armed person via dinosaur comparison.
It does! Man he better give his all on those passes across the middle or his nickname writes itself.
If he ran around 4.8 as most expected I think he goes in round 7.
Oooh. This seems significant. Isaiah has been lauded for his ethic being a reason for his quick transition to WR. Sounds like a good influence on some fast WR on our roster.
Been friends since they were five years old.
Was he able to test at all?
4.85-4.96 depending on the watch
Nate Lynn looks very interesting to me.
A “no-star” recruit. That’s got to light a fire under you. Very productive on the field. Plays with his hair on fire. Probably as a result of being a no-star recruit.
12 (twelve?) forced fumbles. I LOVE that stat.
Same school as Sorsdal.
I almost put him in that deep sleepers list, he was the second-to-last edge Dane talked about in the Beast, and most interestingly, about the ONLY day 3 prospect I could find that was under 22 (though it turned out Wingo was a day 3 prospect as well).
I eventually left him off cause he’s basically a power edge in a DPR’s body (6’2.5, 31 inch arms) and I’m not sure that profile has ever hit in the league. Great hands and work ethic though.
I expected a few UDFA signings as returners. We’re going back to the time when returners are important. Acceleration/deceleration are real important for chunks of yardage in the return game.
This guy has it in spades. Although I believe his flying 20 time was very slow. So, if he makes the team - expect chunks of yards, but not TD’s.
I think it’s the short area stuff that he excels at. He has Tate’s twinkle toes but not the juice.
But I do think St. wants to move around more. I do think he’s probably getting a bit of a “but really he’s just a slot” stuff.
Question about the Kickoff returns.
If you have two returners do you put Williams back there bc he can throw the ball. It kind of changes the whole coverage dynamic for the opposition if you use the throw back a couple times a year. Adds risk of course but we’re talking about Dan here.
its weird having a good team. very different.
Excellent thought. One of the two return TDs from the XFL last year was from a throwback pass I believe.
He’s Riley part II.
