Some genre mixing but ones I like:
New Coon Creek Girls (they aren’t new anymore…)
Ronda Vincent
Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver (ok off my gospel bluegrass kick)
Statler Brothers (My favorite gospel song is Are You Washed in the Blood)
The Bombay Royale (Enjoyable even if you don’t speak Bengali or Hindi… try The River as a 1st track it’s in English)
Heard this the other day. Really like this song. Listened to the words… never realized it was a Christian-based song, so I thought of this thread. The words are uplifting, does not matter if you’re Christian or not.
Married to an opera trained singer this woman has a fantastic voice.
Thx for sharing fellas… Keep this thread going.
God bless you all and your families
Tis the season, great song and performance no matter your convictions.

From the WeaselCave, circa 1988
Charlie Chaplin, if you didn’t know, was in addition to being the biggest movie star before “talkies” became a thing, and a comedic genius, was a damn fine songwriter AND had bouts of crippling depression.
YET
This is his message, which is pretty spot on.
Original arrangement from the most excellent human I’ve ever known. We would close 1st act or shows with all house and stage lights off with this
I’m probably going to lose my man card for this but if you want a really great musical experience Wicked was fantastic. Seen it twice seen the musical on stage twice probably would go see it again two more times. Just a great job all around visual script lyrics performances the whole thing
Took my wife and adult daughters to see it on stage. Oldest daughter has seen the film version and is probably going back this weekend. Closest theater to where I live is about 15 miles west and just reopened, I doubt they have wicked. My grandmothers cousin was the first wicked witch, Gale Sondergaard. They decided they needed to go a different direction, ie, someone that was on the ugly side. Gale won the first academy award for best supporting actress in her very first movie role, but married a director that was part of the “Hollywood 10”. Short career, they didn’t want commies. Her photo from “The Wizard of Oz”…

That’s pretty cool
My grandmother had some great stories, they grew up together in southern Minnesota. Unfortunately I never met her or her husband, Herbert Bieberman. She eventually returned to the theater and he was forced to direct films under a pseudonym after being black balled and sent to prison.
