Lay down, lay down your old chains
Come now, and take up your new name
Your best life up ahead now
You’re one step away

In death, in life
I’m confident and covered by
The power of your great love
My debt is paid
There’s nothing that can separate
My heart from your great love
Sing it, your love

Your love never fails
It never gives up
It never runs out on me

For any guitarists (playing a slide) or real musicians that play real instruments and write real music and lyrics. They can appreciate this.

Going old school this am with the Grateful Dead. A little history, this is a Buddy Holly song that they put their spin on, which was a part of who they were in the early days. They covered artists like Merle Haggard, “Mama Tried”, and brought their songs to a generation who assumed they were original songs by the Dead, they were not. Here is a list.

Score was really talented on the synth/keyboards. His guitar player, Paul Reynolds, that guy was 17 when he came up with those trademark guitar sounds. Thus, helping create the really unique sound they had. Without him, they never would have launched.

The way he used delay and harmonics was powerful. I had read before it influenced the Edge in U2. Not sure if that is true.

Paul Reynold’s sound and style really complimented Mike Scores’ keyboards. It was a perfect match.
