And if you like some great guitar work…
And if you like some great guitar work…
EVH was a great guitar player. But when talking about no one being close, I disagree. Much of these discussions come down to personal preference. I am a Richie Blackmore/Jimmy Page guy. But they are very stylistically different.
Even more to Eddie’s style, I prefer the work of Randy Rhodes. But it is a preference thing. None of my preferences take away from the great guitar playing of EVH. The first couple of VH albums were absolutely top notch.
But I listen to the first 3 Rainbow albums far more than I reach back for VH. I even catch some Blackmore’s Night when I want to enjoy Richie playing mandolin. As for Jimmy Page, the catalog speaks for itself.
But for every broad discussion of guitarists, there is a reason people will toss the names of Hendrix, Jeff Beck, David Gilmore and Eric Clapton. Make no mistake, all of them and more should be, and deserve to be, in the discussion.
I would add Eric Gales to that list as well.
The Queen was robbed of a Grammy.
Spirtbox is one of the greatest live shows of modern metal
Can’t get enough of this song. Been jammin on it for a few months now. Gives me old George Strait vibes that today’s country music needs more of.
I spend a lot of time behind the windshield these days taking people to their doctor appts and I can’t do classic rock anymore so I’ve been listening to some country stations. Not a big fan of most of it but i really like this song. She’s not the first one to be drinking Jack all by herself.
Contemporary radio country, is absolute trash.
LOL..Euro DJs.
Hall and Oates
Check out Eagles of Death Metal. The name is not what they are. They do soooo many covers where I go “better than the original.” A couple of my favorites: Abracadabra and Careless Whisper. Then of course there’s Can’t Explain by the Scorpions…
Here, let me write one of those for you. “I was in my pickup truck, gettin drunk down by the creek…” Sound about right? None of it can carry one pube of The Possum, Waylon, Johnny, Hank, Patsy, Willy, Marty (Robbins) etc.
The Pretty Wild with such a great song and video to match it
@CuriousHusker …for you.
“Rest easy, Brad Arnold. You put up a hell of a fight.”
Bob Seger
Actually this song seems to have many great pubes in it. Could Waylon top this?
Listened to a buncha Steely Dan yesterday. Forgot how great they were.
Been listening to the Scorps lately as well.
That’s my sound track when summer begins.
