Oh yeah loved me some Halo as well!

You must play RDR2. RDR1 is great, but RDR2 is an experience all it’s own. Find it on sale for PC, the game runs 10x better and the graphics are spectacular. That game is 7 years old, and is still enough to bring a top tier gaming PC to it’s knees when you crank everything up. I love to just roam around and hunt or do whatever just to pass time and help me think. RDR2 is a prequel to 1, but you don’t have to play them in order. You could easily play RDR2, then play RDR1 after, but more stuff will make sense if you play it as RDR1 to RDR2.
RDR1 had the by far superior multiplayer. RDR2 online was a big disappointment for me.
Perfect. If I can get a solid rotation of two person games should be able to curtail screen time a bit. Tough genie to put back in the bottle of course. And I’m hardly the best role model on that front.
Did we just become best friends?! I agree with all those things…and Odyssey was a great game
Did you play 16 by chance? I really liked Final Fantasy 16. First Final Fantasy game I enjoyed and played through to the end in a long time. I feel like that was a game where they got back to their roots a bit.
Playing Final Fantasy 16, then playing E33 was fun, because when the new character in E33 shows up, I immediately recognized his voice and yelled “IT’S CLIVE!!!” (FF16 main character voice actor is the same guy)
I already own both, just have never gotten around to playing them. Well, at least the stories. I was big into GTA V RP and RDR2 RP for a bit, so I’ve played a bit of RDR2 in that respect, I’ve just never played the actual itself outside of the RP Servers.
If you want to play them in terms of one story flowing to another chronologically, play 2, then 1. If you want the real experience and to fill in a few gaps on the hows and whys, play 1 then 2.
Also from the SNES RPG front. Chrono Trigger. Another absolutely fantastic game. Came out right after FF3 too, what a time for RPG’s.
I was a madden guy. Would wake up in the summer time and play it all day long.
Did any of you ever play X Com: UFO Defense? I loved that game (sigh) thirty years ago.
You can also play magic the gathering collectible card game or online. But be careful with that one. Can get addictive and pricey. I played about 20 years ago and then ditched it.
I did not, but I did play, and still play on occasion, Starcraft. That game is from 1997, and still has people playing online. My son laughed when I actually had to explain the system requirements for that game. Pentium 90, 16 megabytes of ram… ![]()
Yeah, I think Chrono Trigger is the pinnacle for SNES RPGs for a lot of people. And for good reason - it is a very easy game to get into and does so many things right. Easily a Top 5 SNES RPG for me, probably tied or right below FF6 in my personal rankings. It’s amazing and it’s a shame Square hasn’t done more with the IP.
He has some classmates really into that and Pokémon. Not really his cup of tea.
Huge gamer here as well. Currently playing Path of Excile 2. I like to jump in on games in development and do testing so I have my eye on a couple upcoming MMO’s for alpha testing.
I have not. I’ll check it out though. I do keep forgetting to mention I did really Enjoy E33. Such a unique experience.
I played PoE2 when it first released and thought it was really good, but haven’t really picked it up since then. I really struggle with season-type games, but I really enjoy the gameplay.
I’m a big MMO nerd (20+ years in WoW now and have basically played every MMO that’s been released that I can remember). What are you looking forward to/have your eyes on? I haven’t followed as closely as I used to since the genre just feels stagnant the last 5+ years.
Pretty much the only thing I’m holding out for that I think could be an actual hit is the Riot MMO, even though there’s been a lot of changes around that. I probably won’t like GW3 since I didn’t like GW2, but I’ll definitely play it. Same thing with Aion 2. I was one of the few that actually seemed like they enjoyed the Chrono Odyssey beta, so we’ll see what that looks like when it comes out of the other side of development with all the changes the devs are making to appease the people who didnt’ like it.
Has anyone played Witchfire? It’s still in early access and supposed to be fully released by the end of the year. I only played for less than 2 hours so I could refund and buy it at full release. It was really enjoyable in the limited time I did play though.
Yep, I played it for about 10 hours a few months ago…I dig it, shooting and movement feels great, good progressions and systems, looks goosd as well. I will def go back once it get’s full release.
Both Iphone and Android have emulators
Where you can download from “sites” and play anything you can think of. Basically PS1 & N64 on back.
My kind of thread.
Currently playing Crimson Desert on PS5 and Xenoblade 2 on Switch 2. Looking forward to starting Oblivion Remastered that just got released.
Play Fortnite with my daughter quite a bit as well. Also love silly games like Vampire Survivors and Megabonk on PC.
