Its more that weve lost Depth on the WR chart now

Do the Lions get cap relief?

Was he better than those other guys on the OSU roster but those guys didn’t come with the head aches & talent wise they were close enough. So OSU’s staff just said F it, let’s play these guys instead?

You have to wonder.

What does it matter if you bet college football inside the facility? I could understand pro games, makes a ton of sense. But college? The NFL either needs to embrace gambling as legit or get out of the business altogether. You can’t act like its morally untoward and then partner with casinos.

It’s called being an adult and having personal responsibility. You can lead correctly and it’s on each individual to make the CHOICE to ACT APPROPRIATELY.

The problem is that it isn’t on one individual. Or two individuals. FOUR FIVE ■■■■■■■ players were involved and evidently some front office staff as well.

You guys are working too hard to absolve Brad of blame. He has to take some responsibility here. That’s how leadership works.

For real, these guys are not children. Kind of insulting to the vast majority of players who behave like responsible adults and professionals to act like the expectation should be that they require babysitters.

Spot on nate. Damn this really sucks.

I don’t think they were really counting on Cephus.
The other WR was a PS hopeful.

I do agree this makes a WR by the end of day 2 almost a certainty…
and a day 3 WR as well.

Oh yeah you bet he did.

Considering the investigation wrapped up on the 29th of march, im guessing brad told the league, and they investigated and since he knew about the ridley situation, prepped for it.

Still, what a ■■■■■■■ mess this situation is though

IMO, this Event is going to really complicate Holmes Draft plans, DAY 1 of the Draft, at a minimum. Likely, not at #6, but #18, baring any trades…Suddenly, WR Quentin Johnson looks like even more of a likely target at 18… I’d still take a Top Defensive Player at #6…6 games may seem like an eternity at this time. Assuming a WR is the Pick at #18, 6 games should provide sufficient insight and evaluation time to give an initial, good report. At a minimum, drafting a WR, earlier than Holmes may have desired, will provide needed Depth in the WR room regardless.

Lions are even more of a Running Team now…At least, in the short term.

Smells like a bust.

It happens, can’t hit on them all, it just sucks that they had to trade up to get him. Jamo and probably Levi are pretty big black marks though.

It’s wild how my mentality did a complete 180 into SOL mindset within a second of hearing this news after months of good feelings, I’m completed jaded again. Life as a Lions fan, can’t have good things for too long.

I read it more that the vast expansion of legal gambling into the NFL is a very recent phenomenon that’s blurred a lot of lines, and some guys were apparently too dumb to realize that the league would take violations seriously. It’s still on the players to not get themselves taken off the field.

Just like with PEDs. Every violator that gets caught pleads innocence or stupidity, they didn’t know the substance was a PED/on the banned substances list/in that particular milkshake. Doesn’t matter. As a professional, it’s on YOU to be responsible for everything you put in your body. In the same way, if you’re a professional athlete and you want to gamble, it’s on YOU to make sure you’re not putting your team and your career at risk when you do it.

Nah. Those guys are adults. They know the rules. Brad and Dan have been building a great culture. I don’t hold them accountable in the least bit for not being able to follow 55 players around 24/7
