Williams suspended for gambling!

I don’t think this alters their draft prep at all.

If Williams was recovering from something that would keep him out the first few weeks they wouldn’t rush off and burn a first rounder.

If this is part of a trend then it also doesn’t alter their draft prep, but makes it more likely that they had already planned to use an early pick at WR

Several staff and several players. This wasn’t one guy doing it and hiding it from others. This was spreading.

And it’s such an easy rule to follow, too.

Brad and Dan will undoubtedly take responsibility for these actions because that is how THEIR leadership works. But let’s focus on the adults in the room who ■■■■■■ up, and less focus on looking for chinks in the regime as being insinuated.

my brother read an article that confirms all of this.
Also - hoping to get it reduced by appealing that will be coming.

cool. Spin it anyway you want.

I could see any offensive skill position player moved up to a bigger need now. Bijan? Let’s pound that rock.

Anh reminiscent of Schwartz

Then we saw how Caldwell professionalism made a difference

Their job is to keep these guys focused and if something like this happens

It is on those in charge and their evaluation tools in signing these guys.

Not sure why the people in charge of choosing who is in the team

Then are not responsible for what happens when those guys are themselves.

These two deserve to be called out a bit more

seriously during the ■■■■■■■ season lads, thats how they got ridley

Facts are “spin” now? A sizeable group of people associated with this franchise on multiple levels were involved. That’s not spin–it’s what actually happened.

Your overreacting.

He bet on college and to understanding we don’t know how, when or who he bet with.

Also, is any surprised that this is happening??

The NFL is marketing gambling like crazy, teams moving to Vegas but yet they suspend a guy for doing what the NFL pushes on fans multiple times a game.

It’s hypocritical

The hypocrisy is crazy with this….

I keep moving slowly away from the NFL and the Lions as well….

I used check all the sites daily….

I only come here now and post less and less…. I don’t even have nfl.com or espn show up on phone anymore I use them so rarely now

You say gamboling is good for the MFL and profits but not good for the players….

Stupid imho

It’s disappointing, and makes it seem like lions have an edge culture. Even last season , at end of camp , lions had players involved in a terrible DUI.

Football character matters but it seems like other stuff matters too

Just wonder how normal the behavior is - across players vs seeing that as not normal ( like Goff st brown Sewell hutch et al don’t even gamble ?)

Yes, as an individual, you’re correct. And if this was a single individual in the Lions organization, and not several, I’d be in agreement.

But that isn’t the case. This affected multiple players and personnel. And Brad sits atop the perch. You get the praise and the problems.

I want to make it clear that I’m not suggesting Brad inherits all the blame. I said he must share in it.

The team previously fired four lower-level staff members in March for violating the league’s gambling policy for employees.

Yup - I think this is “a thing”
Campbell has the right to be pissex off, but also, he will learn from this moving forward. This is a pretty expensive lesson that was highly avoidable
