Williams suspended for gambling!

I mean they are probably using the Lions locker room wi/fi, the IP address is registered to Allen park. Complete idiots.

I would instantly cut Cephus because I’m ■■■■■■■ pissed!

They did

Great analogy!

He was an easy cut. The guy has contributed very little since he came to Detroit.

More upset with the Lions than Jamo. Several staff members released because of gambling and four players suspended because of gambling.

Sounds like it’s an organizational issue.

The stupidity of those involved is worrying, as is the fact that there seems to have been seven or eight people (the four players and the staffers) involved in breaking team and league rules to such an extent that they’re getting banned, cut and fired for it. That does raise a question mark culturally for sure. Treating people like adults only works if they are actually capable of behaving like adults, and this episode will probably force a change in the amount of latitude players and staff are given in general.

But, overall, I don’t think it’s a huge issue. Cephus, Williams and Berryhill combined for 3 catches and 1 rush for 96 yards last year, and CJ Moore had two fake punts for 55 yards while playing less than 10% of defensive snaps. We haven’t really lost anything compared with last year’s team in terms of on-field production.

This will also serve as a big wake-up call, for Jamo and anyone else who might step out of line. Holmes and Campbell will be laying down the law now with everyone, and making sure something like this never happens again. That’s not a bad thing in and of itself, they have a reason to be hard asses now, which the players will understand.

Also, it’s really not a terrible crime. When I saw the headlines that four Lions players were suspended I assumed it might be drugs, sexual abuse or something else that is far more serious in real-life terms than gambling.

It might even work out for Jamo. It sounds like he might have needed a good kick up the ass and this will be it. Come week 7 he should be hungry and healthy, and he’ll have no excuses.

Question for @DeadStroke - do we get cap relief for the cut players and for the weeks of suspension for Jamo? Cephus and Moore carry dead cap hits, but are they voided by the suspension?

Again siliver linings

Cap space is better, and Jamo is easy cut/trade with no reprcussions, also prolly makes him player harder now cause he has no guarantees and he needs to actually shut up and play now

Just woke up and saw this…Maybe if I go back to sleep, I can go back to just dreaming about the draft getting here as soon as possible again.

This sucks

Why do you say this? Obviously Jamo, Cephus and the rest ignored the rules of the NFL, so why wouldn’t they ignore Stafford? Come on.
I also saw posted that Dan or Brad may not have told him the rules…yada yada…that is BS. These guys knew what they were doing and not one person in that locker room was going to change that.
