Williams suspended for gambling!

Reread it and thanks I get what the infraction was.

I swear we can’t have nice things, this is the most Lions thing ever. Totally disgusted right now.

I wonder about Goff’s leadership on this one. Is he at fault? Would this have happened with Stafford?

Obviously many here do not grasp why gambling in general is frowned upon.

It’s not just “if he bets on his game he might throw the game”. It’s way bigger than that.

It is because gamblers get into debt and then are coerced into into throwing games to get out of debt. Jordan was in hot water for losing his ass on the golf course.

The point is when you owe people money they have leverage on you.

All that said, using a app that is run by one of the major casino companies is actually way less problematic than gambling through a bookie. The casinos are corporate now. They are not run by the mob anymore. Nobody from MGM is going track you down and suggest they will wipe your debt if you throw a game.

But that is the exact thing you worry about when gambling with bookies…you get $200K in debt and the guy offers to wipe your debt if you throw a game “just this once”. Because the bookie can make it go away and can make way more than $200K if he knows he has a game “in the bag”.

It’s all about not letting the gamblers get their hooks in the players for any kind of gambling debt, not just “did they bet on a game they were playing in”

THE worst possible outcome? Worse than if he went say…the Ray Rice route? Come on man. I know you’re upset by this but there’s WAY worse things that could have happened than a kid making some online bets.

WR just became a BIG need this draft…

Honestly atleast we can say they are just idiots instead of monsters like 24 and counting over in cleveland

100% yes to this. Even though we’re still going to make the playoffs, what if 1 or 2 losses kept us from a first round bye?

■■■■ yes, to this! Hate it, but it is correct. I put some of this blame on Dan, & you guys know that’s a heavy/committed statement coming from me. I love him & have his back 100%. Also → he gets to clean that shit up.
Also, also (sort of like p.p.s.) → I know he will

100% . Pal up with an official. They will get that shit done for you!

Yes to all of this as well.

Wtf he miss 6 games I would say that’s a big deal.
And probably pushes WR up as a need. JSN is sounding a lot better right now.

There it is! Can’t help, but been waiting for this. I mean, not THIS exactly, but anything. It’s been nothing but full positive, happy go lucky new for our Leos. That’s not right.
Now this is back to normal!
We can all use this as the excuse when we’re 5-12 at the end of season. Now we got a built in reason. SOL…

our bye is week 7… so he will be back week 8. Its a big deal. We are going to be fighting for the playoffs… losing a potential talented player to start the year could definitly make an impact on our season
