Williams suspended for gambling!

The only logical assumption is that he was betting on professional wrestling and his management team knows if the truth comes out it will do permanent harm to his reputation which is why they are trying to get ahead of the story.

WOW. Only the f******** lions!!! You have to be kidding me

I have the same punched in the gut feeling when Alex Karras was suspended for the same thing back in the day…it’s like, WTF!
How can you be so supremely talented and have rocks for brains?

Maybe because some of the staff that have been fired were doing it?

And then connect the dots that Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft are huge investors in DraftKings… the nfl is corrupt as shit. The Lions players are stupid for sure, but this gambling shit is out of control.

I guarantee they knew that about him when they selected him.

I HATE agreeing with this, but to an extent, I do.
Also guarantee it gets resolved very quickly.

Well I will say once they found out about it the staff members were gone immediately. Reason the players weren’t is because of the NFLPA, they had to wait for the NFL suspensions

Bro → have you seen how handsome Mathew is?
ZERO % chance anyone can ignore that!
I repeat → ZERO

This is 100% correct. When Jamo goes home after the third preseason game, he is going home for a while. Cannot practice with the team or be at the facility for the first three games, which means roughly four weeks. The Monday after their week 3 game, he can come back and practice, train, meetings, film study, etc for weeks 4-6.

Lol at turning this into a Staff/Goff debate. That’s awsome

Seriously though. My gut has been telling me Jamo has bust written all over him. Even if he does have good games you’ll still get the drama and knucklehead shit. Brad can’t hit on all his picks. This might be the ouch one.

Thanks for making my point

Just to be clear, it was four lower level staff members and they were let go back in March. These people may have not even had much contact with the 4 players.

Double ouch because of the trade with Minnesota.

Recall, I think Kwesi knew the trade was triggered if Williams was available. Maybe he knew something Brad didn’t. :grimacing:

Great post @Slay
I just hope this won’t impact playoff positioning, though I expect us to win most of those games anyway. Jamo is a big factor & he gets to start thinking of the team first more often, for sure.

Jamo is probably thinking “Well I don’t have to worry about making bets at the facility for the first 3 weeks of the season”

Nah, those analytics nut jobs believe in hoarding picks from 25ish to 90ish. Their data tells them that’s where the bulk of the starters come from, so if they can turn an early pick into 2 picks in that range, they’ll do it.

The two aren’t anything alike, getting smashed would affect your ability to do your job while bartending and possibly be a health and safety risk.

Somebody placing a bet on their phone that takes a couple minutes to do doesn’t have any effect whatsoever on their ability to step out onto the football field safely and effectively.

It doesn’t matter. Both workplaces have rules against those things, regardless of whether the business promotes using them and/or has partnerships with companies that provide said activities.

Well knowing what we know now. Jamo seems fine with questionable decisions. Reports were he struggled with the playbook some, liked tweets promoting a new QB. Which isn’t egregious or anything. But then you add this gambling ordeal. Yeah it’s not looking good right now. I wouldn’t be counting on Jamo. That’s for damn sure.
