Williams suspended for gambling!

Bingo. I could do my job just as effectively in jeans as slacks. But the rule is slacks. So I wear slacks. Rules are the rules, hypocritical or not.

Yes, we will save a prorata share of Jamo’s base salary 6 games out of 18 and all future guarantees are voided. Same will happen with Berryhill if he makes the team.

Since CJ signed this year, his contract will void and he won’t get his guarantees and may have to pay back the signing bonus (he got $700K already and was set to get the other $700K in September). One way or another, we should have no net cap charge for CJ (we may have a cap charge this year, but get a credit next year).

Cephus, we just save on his 2023 base salary.

Probably gambled it away.

The Jamo situation sucks… at least he was only betting on college. But, shit so many players and staff involved. And who were these lower level employees that got fired? any coaches?

Cephus and Moore betting on nfl games!? Moore was playing in games and betting on them. Cephus was on the couch injured betting.

I am thrilled that Jamo loses his guarantees. Time to actually work instead of living off talent alone.

I was pretty shocked that anyone took that joke seriously.
I even double down on the ludicrous & outlandish statement.

To be more clear for you → in no way do I feel Goff &/or Stafford’s presence, or lake thereof on this roster has anything to do with the gambling practices of the current roster.

I’m trying to have fun here.

p.s. No worries, I miss jokes all the friggin time. I will also excuse it because I am fully aware that not all of my jokes are funny.

I do agree with everyone laughing at the dichotomy of promoting gambling yet suspending players. The nfl has blurred the lines a bit but no surprise given the $$ involved.

I still envision Kwesi walking around their facility bumping into shit while talking ot himself.

Vegas wins twice, first they got these idiots money who bet and then all the fans money who bet on the Lions. :face_vomiting:

again

this should be the biggest kick in the ass for him

no safety net, he has to show up now

At least this came before the draft

It doesn’t. It will incentivize Tom Kennedy and Maurice Alexander though.

This is not a Nothingburger. it’s more like a Clara Peller Where’s The Beef Burger…

Do rookies really know to be Depended on in those roles ?
Seems like lions as long as I can remember valued a veteran proven high level special teams guy

The nice thing about having a GM who’s good at his job is that we don’t have to stick to the mindset that if we don’t take a guy in the first or second round, he won’t be a starter. Granted, I’m still adjusting to this magical new world myself…

A little free PR for sports gambling in the news before the draft.

So how much is Jamo actually losing here!?

That’s also how cognitive dissonance works.

I’m starting to feel a little less like we won that trade with the Vikings last year.

Restricting how pro players can bet on COLLEGE games is ■■■■■■■ stupid, and the hypocrisy of the NFL suspending players over sports gambling when they are fully in bed with the sports betting industry is hard to accept. Hell, every other ad during an NFL game is for sports betting. Not that it matters to the Lions though. Rules are rules, and Gooddell is nothing in not fanatically devoted to every rule in the book.

I’m not that upset with Jamo. The kid made a mistake and is paying an absurd price for it. The Lions however now have a big problem to solve.

Alright everyone. Back off the cliff. We had a top offense without Jamo last year and our defense blows so let’s relax on drafting a wr in the first rd. We need defensive help bad

Because those two things have absolutely no connection whatsoever. The world is awash in talented fools
