I will root for the kid. But i wouldnt bet millions of dollars on him by drafting him in the top 2 rounds. Really bad bet.

I mean he’s got a point. Kancey played in the ACC and everybody knows ACC linemen are like T-Rex’s. He won’t have the same reach advantage in the NFL so his tape is basically meaningless.

It does. Was just thinking that if Kyle Hamilton was in this draft I would be glad for the Lions to take him #6. If JSN had been in the draft last year he wouldn’t have been picked top 20. And now he hasn’t played in 18 months and he’s get top ten predictions.

I know some people don’t like pff but Holmes has had maybe the highest graded pff drafts over the past two years.

I doubt Holmes is relying on PFF to fill out his scouting report. And to the extent that Holmes and Campbell grade guys in a way that is similar to PFF is not predictive that every highly graded PFF guy is high on the Lions’ list

Regarding the double teams its more like pick your posion. Last year Hutch faced the most double teams in the league and Houston went off. During the G.B. game G.B. focused their attention on Houston and Hutch gets 2 sacks.

Adding Kancey to the lineup will stress the offense. You can’t double them all and Kancey led the nation in single block win percentage.

I don’t know if Kancey is my #1 target at 18 but he’s probably in my top 5. Just depends on how the draft falls.

Maybe the Lions are targeting a bigger dt like Benton and Mazi to rotate with McNeil and Buggs and are fine with rotating Paschal and Comish at dt on passing downs.

I am betting on a player not being worth a 1st or second round pick based on physics and statistics showing zero percent past success.

A lot of GMs make dumb pics that the fans do not like. Whether you think that GM is dumb for making the pic is on you. Statistically it is an aweful bet. When a gm makes an aweful bet and loses the fans never let him live it down. This is a bad bet. And like forest gump said: stupid is as stupid does.

My bet is only based on the player. Not the gm who takes him.
